The third edition of the "1900 CUP" celebrates a resounding success and international acclaim

The third edition of the 1900 CUP exceeded all expectations and has established itself as one of the most important youth football tournaments in the European landscape. Held from April 18 to 20 across the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque and the Meiland Central complex, the tournament was a true celebration of grassroots football, with record-breaking figures and an exceptionally high level of competition.
A total of 132 teams participated, with 323 matches played and over 4,000 attendees, including players, coaches, families, and spectators. For three intense days, Barcelona hosted some of the most prestigious youth academies from both Spain and abroad. Alongside the host club RCD Espanyol, top-tier teams such as Atlético de Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Athletic Club, Sevilla FC, Real Sociedad, Valencia CF, SD Eibar, Málaga CF, and Levante UD took part in the event.
In addition to the competitive level, the 1900 CUP once again stood out for its international reach, bringing together teams from over 11 different countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Australia, and China — a clear reflection of the growing global interest in Spanish grassroots football and in the tournament itself.
The event featured remarkable moments of talent and intensity. Standout players included PSG’s number 6, Bakary Ketia, named MVP of the U9 category, and Málaga CF’s goalkeeper Nicolás Martínez. Among the winning teams were Valencia CF (U8), RCD Espanyol (U9), and Levante UD (U10) — a testament to the excellent level of development within the participating academies.
Matches were played across 10 football pitches, all supervised by official referees from the Catalan Football Federation, ensuring the highest standards of competitiveness and organization.
As the organizer and host of the tournament, RCD Espanyol has further strengthened its position as an international benchmark in youth football development. As Mao Ye expressed during the closing ceremony, “The 1900 CUP is yet another example of RCD Espanyol’s commitment to excellence in youth development, capable of mobilizing and creating unique experiences for all.”
With this third edition, the 1900 CUP continues to grow in impact, quality, and prestige, reaffirming its mission: to unite cultures and shape lives through football.
