The Football Association visits RCD Espanyol to deepen its understanding of the LA21 methodology
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona welcomed a group of coaches from The Football Association for a week-long training experience focused on the club’s development model and its Espanyol Academy methodology, the LA21 methodology.
Throughout their stay, the English coaches took part in a series of theoretical sessions covering key aspects such as methodology, values, identity, and the overall philosophy of the club. This was complemented by on-field learning, including the observation of youth academy training sessions and direct interaction with Espanyol’s coaching staff, enabling a practical and immersive exchange of knowledge.
Beyond the training environment, the group also experienced the club from a competitive perspective. They attended a first-team match at the RCDE Stadium, witnessing a full house during the LaLiga fixture against Getafe CF.
The visit concluded with matches at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque, where they watched victories from the U-16 Cadete A and U-17 Juvenil B teams, gaining a complete view of the club’s development pathway from academy level to the first team.
This initiative reinforces RCD Espanyol’s international positioning as a reference in football development and highlights its ability to deliver high-value educational experiences to leading football organizations.
