Solidarity and spirit at the RCDE Academy in Chengdu
The international academy organised a special day of football and inclusion for underprivileged children and their families.
This past weekend, the RCDE Espanyol Academy in Chengdu hosted a very special event for a group of children who, due to their economic circumstances, do not usually have opportunities to play sports.
The main goal of the day was to let the children enjoy the game, share an unforgettable experience, and learn about the club's values firsthand in a fun, welcoming, and family-friendly atmosphere.
To make this happen, the academy's Chinese coaches prepared various football games and activities tailored to the participants' ages. One of the highlights was the direct involvement of the parents, who actively joined in the games -forming teams alongside their children and the coaches.
At the end of the event, the academy presented the attendees with official RCD Espanyol footballs and donated sports and educational equipment to their school.
The club believe that an academy should focus not only on developing future players but also on demonstrating a firm social commitment, bringing football to all children regardless of their financial situation.
