International RCD Espanyol Academies meet in Barcelona
The ninth edition of the event was held this week
As is customary at the start of each season, partners and directors of RCD Espanyol Academies from around the world were invited to Barcelona this week, to participate in the IX Annual RCDE Academies Meeting. This event focused on training, networking, professional development, and knowledge sharing related to RCD Espanyol de Barcelona's training methodology.
For three days, at both the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque and the RCDE Stadium, attendees gained in-depth knowledge of the club's operations and its methodology, as well as acquiring practical tools for the sporting and business development of their respective Academies.
The goal is for those running Academies to have access to knowledge, tools, and resources directly linked to the club, enabling them to develop their projects and differentiate themselves from the competition in their respective markets.
In this 2026 edition, directors and partners participated in sessions with the General Management, the RCDE Academies Management team, and various professionals from the sporting area. Highlights included a masterclass by Marco Otero, the club's Technical Director and Head of Football Development at VSP, and a session with Marc Pinyol, Head of Recruitment at La21. The training was complemented by observing sessions and exchanging knowledge and experiences on the pitch with youth and first-team coaches, led by Manolo González.
Partners and Academy directors have full access to the club; proof of this is that they also had the opportunity to meet first-team players, such as Roger Hinojo, a La21 product and an example of the talent that has come up through Espanyol's youth system.
