RCD Espanyol's international academies kick off eleventh season
RCD Espanyol held the latest edition of their annual training session for those in charge of the club's international academies last week. Representatives from the 15 international academies and the four Spanish schools had the opportunity to update their knowledge, share experiences, and delve deeper into the training model of La21, the RCD Espanyol de Barcelona academy.
The sessions included classes taught by club professionals and external experts, with content ranging from the day-to-day management of an RCDE academy to the application of artificial intelligence in training and organisational processes, reaffirming Espanyol's position as a pioneer internationally in the integration of new disruptive tools.
In addition, the various international collaborators were able to experience the daily youth football work up close, attend training sessions, and learn from first team coach Manolo González. They also shared time with Mao Ye, CEO of RCD Espanyol, who reaffirmed the commitment to the international project and desire to continue working together to expand the brand and training methodology worldwide.
Albert Saus, Head of Football Programs at RCD Espanyol, stated: "These sessions allow us to remain a leader in the sector, continue bringing the club closer to our various international collaborators, and continue building this bond we call a family."
The RCDE academies operate through local collaborators who, in close coordination with the club, are responsible for developing the methodology, applying the values, and growing the RCD Espanyol brand and business in different countries.
This activity, which began more than a decade ago, has led to more than 3,000 players around the world training daily using the methodology, contributing not only to RCDE's international growth but also to the club's business, in addition to detecting and monitoring emerging talent on a global scale.
