RCD Espanyol Juvenil A maintain unbeaten start

The team beat Girona 2-1

Espanyol claimed a win against Girona at the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque, scoring late on to make it 2-1 at the final whistle.

The team held the upper hand for much of the first half, creating several chances that were met with strong saves from the away goalkeeper. In the 20th minute, Aaron Soriano capitalised on a defensive error by Girona to put the hosts ahead with a low shot, sent to the left of the keeper. The visitors posed virtually no threat before the break.

After the restart, Girona were more organised and managed to create more attacking opportunities. In the 56th minute, a mishit clearance by the Espanyol goalkeeper allowed Girona to equalise with a powerful strike from outside the box.

RCD Espanyol, however, kept pushing -and their persistence paid off in the 85th minute: Jaume Aghayedo pounced on a rebound inside the six-yard box, firing the ball inside the far post for the winner. The team remain top of the table and undefeated.
