1-1 draw for Juvenil A against Damm

The team take a point on the road

RCD Espanyol Juvenil A faced one of the most demanding away fixtures of the season against Damm, holding them to a 1-1 draw.

The game began promisingly for Los Pericos, who created two clear-cut chances through Arnau Casas and Jaume.

Despite the hosts’ high, man-to-man pressing, the game remained an open affair with opportunities for both sides. However, a turnover while playing out from the back led to a Damm free kick just outside the penalty area, which was converted directly to take a 1-0 lead.

After the break, Xala’s side made tactical adjustments and gained a stronger foothold in the opposition half, benefiting from the fact that Damm were beginning to tire. This improvement was rewarded with an equaliser from Pol Escribano, restoring parity at 1-1.

Although Damm regained the initiative for a brief period, substitutions allowed the Juvenil A team to inject fresh energy into the game, and approach the final stretch with renewed vigor.

In the closing minutes, Los Pericos pinned their opponents back in their own half, creating several chances to take all three points. Key opportunities included a goal by Aron that was disallowed for offside, a header from Anton, and two long-range efforts from Eric -all of which were thwarted by excellent saves from goalkeeper Samu.

Ultimately, the scoreline remained unchanged, and Juvenil A came away with a point.
