1-3 win in Logroño
RCD Espanyol B claim another victory
Espanyol B secured a 1-3 away victory against Logroñés Promesas to remain just three points off the top of the table, with a game in hand.
The opening stages were evenly-matched, with both teams enjoying spells of control and creating chances. Eloi Tost had a good opportunity to open the scoring, but it was Thomas Dean who put the team ahead as halftime approached. However, just before the break, the hosts managed to level.
After the restart, Espanyol B stepped up their intensity, pressing high.
First, Lodoño forced a brilliant save from the goalkeeper with a free kick. The team’s persistence paid off when Rubén Aguilar scored from the rebound after his own penalty attempt had been saved. The forward then capped off his performance by netting the final goal to make it 1-3.
With this victory, Espanyol B continue their strong run of form, bringing their total to 19 points in the standings. On Wednesday at 6pm, the team will play their rescheduled match against Naxara CD.
