RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, once again chosen by the Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) during LALIGA Week

RCD Espanyol de Barcelona was once again one of the clubs selected —for the second consecutive edition— to host in Barcelona the LALIGA Week together with the Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF), an immersion program focused on knowledge exchange and the professionalization of sports management. 

During two intensive days at the club’s facilities, the Brazilian delegation took part in both theoretical and practical sessions to learn first-hand about Espanyol’s youth academy model, known as “LA21,” and the methodology that drives the development of young male and female players with the potential to reach the first team. 

 

Training itinerary at RCDE 
Day 1 – Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque – RCDE Women’s Football 
The day began with an introduction by Dolors Ribalta (Director of Women’s Football). Afterwards, the group moved from the classroom to the pitch to observe the training session of the RCDE Women’s B team, following the session plan and receiving detailed explanations of each training block. This was followed by a segment on management and talent scouting led by Aida Uceda (Women’s Football Coordination) and Dídac Mas Arco (Women’s Scouting Department), who presented the processes, criteria, and structure of the sporting model. The session concluded with Jordi Fernández, U16 coach, who led a technical-tactical session focused on ideas applicable to everyday training. 

Day 2 – LaLiga Experience at RCDE Stadium 
On the second day, the participants experienced LaLiga from the inside during the RCD Espanyol vs. Elche CF match (Matchday 10), in a special atmosphere celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary and the unveiling of the commemorative jersey.

• Sport Club Corinthians Paulista

• São Paulo FC

• Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras

• Ferroviária SAF

 

The visit also featured the presence of Mauro Silva, who reunited with his former teammate Joan Capdevila at Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque.
