La21 course closes it's 25-26 edition with 20 newly qualified coaches
The RCD Espanyol coaching education programme graduated twenty coaches at a ceremony featuring Joan Capdevila and Alberto Lopo
RCD Espanyol has closed another edition of its LA21 Course in Methodology and Academy Management with a diploma ceremony held at the RCDE Stadium. Twenty coaches successfully completed a demanding programme: over 100 hours of in-person training, four theory-and-practice modules, and a final project presented before an evaluation panel.
The closing ceremony had a standout moment. Joan Capdevila, World Cup winner with Spain in 2010, and Alberto Lopo, a historic figure at the club, took part in a panel discussion in which both reflected on the coaches who shaped their careers and explained how the RCDE academy influenced their understanding of football.
The programme, delivered by LA21's leading experts, covers the international RCDE model and club management, methodology and new technologies, physical preparation and sports nutrition, and full footballing immersion. Delivered in Catalan and Spanish, it is a programme rooted in the identity of the club and the city.
The results speak for themselves. Graduates from previous editions are already part of the RCDE ecosystem — working across the club's international academies, the Escola Dani Jarque, and the men's and women's youth football structures. The course is not a finishing line. It is a way in.
Talent is born at LA21, in the heart of Barcelona. The world is taking notice.
