Jiangsu representatives visit RCD Espanyol
The club undertake discussions about collaboration and joint learning
On December 11th, a delegation comprised of representatives from the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Delegation, the Jiangsu Sports Industry Group, the Jiangsu Football Association, and other sports-related institutions, visited RCD Espanyol to strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of football.
The delegation was welcomed by the club's CEO, Mao Ye Wu, and the Director of the International Cooperation Department, Albert Saus, who received them at the RCDE Stadium. During the meeting, both parties engaged in an in-depth and constructive dialogue on various strategic issues, including the development of grassroots football training systems and the connection between professional and amateur football development.
During the visit, the Jiangsu representatives had the opportunity to tour the RCDE Stadium facilities and share their perspectives on the management and operation of sports infrastructures.
Chen Shaojun, director of the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Commission, highlighted the progress and best practices developed in his region to promote amateur football. He emphasised the community football model represented by the “Super Jiangsu” league, which has become a key platform for bringing football closer to the public and fostering a strong football culture. This approach has increased social participation and a sense of belonging around the sport, while also reinforcing the sustainable development of professional football.
Saus shared RCD Espanyol's experience in areas such as youth talent development, club management, and the promotion of community football. He also explained the importance the club place on collaboration in the football ecosystem and their willingness to explore new avenues of cooperation with Jiangsu .especially in areas such as training, coach exchanges, and the joint development of a football culture.
