RCD Espanyol takes part in the LALIGA and Bloomsbury Football Foundation social project in London
The club strengthens its commitment to grassroots football and social inclusion through an international initiative.
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona is once again taking part in the community project promoted by LALIGA, Fundación LALIGA and Bloomsbury Football Foundation, an international initiative that uses football as a tool for social inclusion and youth development in North London.
Now in its fourth season, the programme involves more than 100 girls aged 10 to 13, representing 16 professional Spanish football clubs. RCD Espanyol continues to be part of the initiative, contributing its identity and long-standing commitment to youth development and football values.
The project aims to improve access to football for young people from diverse social backgrounds, combining regular training sessions with an educational programme focused on teamwork, respect, personal development and social cohesion. Scholarships will be awarded to ensure participation regardless of financial circumstances.
The season kicked off with an opening event at two educational venues in North London —Acland Burghley School and Harris Academy— where players, coaches and educators received the official equipment for the year. The event highlighted the growth and consolidation of a project with a strong social impact.
RCD Espanyol’s involvement in this initiative reflects the club’s historical commitment to grassroots football, education and social responsibility, extending its values beyond the pitch and strengthening its role in international community projects.
Throughout the season, several tournaments will be held in London, including a dedicated girls’ football competition in collaboration with local schools, further supporting the development of women’s football.
