RCD Espanyol attend 21st Esport Solidari Internacional Charity Dinner
The club continue to support charitable initiatives
On Friday, April 10th, RCD Espanyol once again demonstrated their commitment to values that extend beyond the pitch, by participating in the 21st Esport Solidari Internacional (ESI) Charity Dinner -an evening that brought together 600 people with a common goal of supporting charitable causes.
The night was a resounding success, with an overwhelming response from the community. Attendees enjoyed four outstanding performances from Lax’n’Busto, Lorca, Guaraná, and Sabor de Gràcia.
One of the most special moments of the night came with the presentation of the Solidarity Awards, which showcases the work and commitment of exemplary individuals and organisations. Among the award recipients, Espanyol player Tyrhys Dolan, ambassador for the Go Again Foundation, was recognised for his involvement in helping people with mental illness. Siscu Morell's tireless fight for ALS research was also acknowledged, as was the work of the Hyatt Foundation, historically linked to the defence of human rights.
The event was attended by a wide range of institutional representatives, including prominent figures such as the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni; the President of the Catalan Parliament, Josep Rull; the Catalan Minister of Sport, Berni Álvarez; the Barcelona City Councillor for Sports; and the President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, among others. The evening was also presided over by Josep Maldonado, President of the Esport Solidari Internacional (ESI) Foundation, the driving force behind this charitable initiative.
On behalf of RCD Espanyol, CEO Mao Ye and board member Rafa Marañón led the club's representation at the event.
