'Quan La Pelota Calla'
RCD Espanyol launch a new podcast with former players
There's a day in every footballer's life when their career comes to an end. It’s the day in which “the ball falls silent.” The early mornings, the schedules, and the individualised daily tasks drawn up week by week or match by match are over.
From that day on, a new routine begins, far from the spotlight and the microphones. Whilst the ball falls silent, there are still many things to say and many stories to tell.
'Quan la pilota calla' (When The Ball Falls Silent) is a podcast in which former players sit down to talk about their careers. There are no clocks or stopwatches, just the desire to talk, to reveal stories and anecdotes.
For example, there are those who are now in the dugout and those who have moved into the offices. Those who took the opportunity to start studying. Those who decided to become entrepreneurs. Those who completely distanced themselves from football and those who lived out their final seasons in exotic leagues. The ball has been silent for a while, but its echo hasn't faded because there are still things to explain.
This RCD Espanyol podcast can be listened to first on Espanyol Media's OTT platform after registering, and then, 24 hours later, is available on all official RCD Espanyol platforms (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts).
The first episode, featuring Sergio García, is now uploaded.
