Official Statement
The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have imposed a sanction of the partial closure of Section 100 of the RCDE Stadium, as a consequence of the incidents recorded in the referee's report during the match played on March 21st, 2026, against Getafe CF, corresponding to Matchday 29 of the LaLiga EA Sports season.
This sanction was agreed upon by the Disciplinary Committee, which considered the events constituted a serious disruption of the match, given that the club had been previously warned for similar incidents, in accordance with the current RFEF Disciplinary Code.
In compliance with the disciplinary ruling, during the upcoming match at the RCDE Stadium against Levante UD, corresponding to Matchday 32 of the LaLiga EA Sports season and scheduled for April 27th, Section 100 of the RCDE Stadium will be closed to the public. This section, from which objects were thrown in the aforementioned incident, will display a message condemning violent, racist, xenophobic, and intolerant acts and behaviour in football, as well as supporting fair play, in accordance with Article 57 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code.
The closure will affect approximately 344 seats. Season ticket holders in this section will receive the corresponding notification from RCD Espanyol.
RCD Espanyol reiterate our firm and unequivocal condemnation of any violent, racist, xenophobic and intolerant behaviour in sport, which in no way represents the values of the club, and are saddened that these types of action, carried out by a minority, directly harm the entire fanbase.
