García: "It was a team victory"
RCD Espanyol interim coach Sergio García highlighted the commitment and character shown by the players as they took three points from their visit to La Cerámica.
Speaking after the game, he said that “It was a team victory. The players were prepared, and we had a clear plan on how to hurt our opponents. We saw the best version of this team, and we earned three very important points at a tough ground like Villarreal’s.”
“We have great players, and they needed to believe in themselves. We went toe-to-toe with Villarreal, playing with character and always looking to push forward. The team gave everything, and I’m grateful that the players stepped up and performed.”
Finally, García emphasized the importance of La21.
“I want the players from Espanyol B to gain experience with us, so they can go on to bolster the first team. They know they have a real opportunity, and that with hard work and sacrifice, good things will follow.”
