100 official games in charge for Manolo González
The Espanyol coach reaches a century of matches with the first team
Manolo González reached a significant milestone in charge of the RCD Espanyol de Barcelona first team this past weekend. Against Sevilla FC, he celebrated 100 official games in charge of the first team.
With this, he moves past Ernesto Valverde (99) and into ninth place in the list of coaches with the most games in club history.
González made his debut in the first team dugout on March 17th, 2024, in a 0-1 victory over Real Zaragoza, with Javi Puado scoring the winning goal. That same season, he guided the team back to the top flight after they beat Real Oviedo in the decisive promotion play-off final.
In his first full season in the top flight, Espanyol finished the campaign in 14th place, while last season the team were 11th.
