Drkušić: "We have a positive attitude and plenty of energy"

Speaking in the run-up to the game against Racing Santander, RCD Espanyol midfielder Vanja Drkušić continued to reflect on last Saturday’s game against Atletico Madrid, in which the team were unable to take points.

“The atmosphere was something that we felt the moment we stepped onto the pitch. It was electric, and I have to express my gratitude for the way we were welcomed. It gives me extra motivation for the upcoming games,” he told the media on Tuesday.

“It was a shame to concede a goal in the final minutes once again, just as happened to us in Malaga. I believe we should focus on the positive aspects that emerged during the match.”

He emphasised that “we need to improve in certain areas, train well, and prepare for the game against Racing Santander. The atmosphere in the dressing room is good. We are fully aware of our current situation, but everyone is approaching it with a positive attitude and plenty of energy. We are all ready to contribute.”
