0-0 draw for RCD Espanyol against Barbastro

Espanyol B visited Barbastro in a Sunday morning fixture, aiming to get back to winning ways. The game eventually concluded goalless.
Raúl Jardiel's side faced a blustery headwind from the start, which affected the opening minutes of the game. In the 7th minute, Barbastro appeared to have taken the lead with a shot from Gabarre following a free kick, although the goal was disallowed for offside.
As the minutes ticked by, Espanyol adapted to the conditions and began to look more comfortable on the pitch. In the 13th minute, a great counterattack ended with a shot from Pleguezuelo that struck the post. Shortly after, in the 20th minute, following a corner, the home side came close to scoring again, but goalkeeper Timera made two consecutive saves. The match, heavily impacted by the wind, went into halftime goalless.
After the break, Espanyol B stepped up their intensity. Ten minutes into the second half, Thymos managed to beat the goalkeeper, but the goal was again disallowed for offside.
In the 60th minute, Lluc Castell tried his luck, but was met by a good save from the home goalkeeper. Later, in the 71st minute, Almansa delivered a dangerous cross that failed to find a teammate.
The game slowed down somewhat in the final stages, although Espanyol B never stopped trying for a winning goal. In stoppage time, Letono had another chance with a header that nearly gave Los Pericos the victory.
With this result, Espanyol B have now drawn three consecutive matches, keeping them in the hunt for a playoff spot.
