Víctor Gómez has departed RCD Espanyol for Sporting Clube de Braga on a permanent deal, where he spent this season on loan
The defender has made his move to the Portuguese club permanent, after Braga exercised the purchase option in the loan agreement. It ends his Espanyol link of 15 years, having arrived at the Club in the under-9 team in July 2008.
After a few years away in his academy days, Gómez returned to Espanyol in the 2015/16 season, graduating from the academy to make his LaLiga debut aged 19 against Villarreal on 20th October 2019.
Gómez went on two loan spells in Spain, first to Mirandés in 2020 before heading down to Málaga the following season. The right-back’s third and final loan move would be to Braga, where he has been a standout player in a side that finished third in the Primeira Liga.
RCD Espanyol wants to thank Víctor for his professionalism during these years and wishes him all the luck in the world in this new challenge.
