Tributes paid to Jesús de Miguel and Michel Pineda
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona paid a heartfelt tribute to both Jesús de Miguel and Michel Pineda before their game against RC Deportivo de A Coruña, with a minute's silence in their memory.
Before kickoff, both teams took to the pitch wearing shirts in memory of the late CD Tenerife forward De Miguel, who tragically died this past week after an on-field collision. Furthermore, in the 9th minute, the match was paused for a round of applause.
The club also paid homage to Michel Pineda, a key figure for RCD Espanyol during the 1980s. His former teammates Tommy N’Kono, Josep Maria Gallart, and Iñaki Pérez de Arrilucea shared some affectionate words for "Monsieur."
