The RCDE Stadium kicks off latest edition of 1900 CUP
The RCDE Stadium hosted the opening day of the 1900 CUP this Thursday, marking the start of a tournament that continues to grow in scale and international reach within the world of youth football.
This year’s competition brings together 77 clubs, 206 teams and 2,470 players, while also featuring representation from 16 countries and the presence of 6 RCDE Academies. These figures reinforce the 1900 CUP as an increasingly important event in the youth football calendar.
The opening ceremony brought all of the participating teams together on the pitch, showcasing the size and diversity of the tournament. Along with its international focus, the competition once again highlights the value of bringing together different levels of youth football, connecting academies, clubs and development systems within the same environment.
The day also welcomed approximately 4,000 spectators, reflecting the growing interest around a competition that turns the RCDE Stadium into a meeting point for players, families, coaches and accompanying guests.
The 1900 CUP is not only a competition. It is also a place where excitement, learning and experiences come together, accompanying young footballers as they develop far beyond results on the pitch
With this new edition, the 1900 CUP continues to strengthen its position as a platform for youth football, international experience and player development, while also reinforcing the role of RCD Espanyol and the RCDE Stadium as drivers of events capable of combining sport and organisation at a global level.
