Second episode of CLOSER released
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona present the second episode of the series CLOSER, continuing the club's strategic commitment to original content. This is the third major project launched by Espanyol Media, following Lucha Hasta El Final (Fight to the End) and Artesanos del fútbol (Football Artisans).
With CLOSER, the club focus on their close connection with the fans, telling stories from different perspectives and offering a more human look at daily life at RCD Espanyol. The series combines what happens on the pitch with the everyday activities of the players on both the men's and women's teams.
In this second episode, "Mens sana", the central theme is mental health. This episode presents three stories that unfold within the club: a player's happiness and adaptation; a return home after a difficult period away; and overcoming a serious injury with the support of a teammate and friend.
In a demanding sporting context, the episode reinforces the idea of Espanyol as a big family and the need for psychological support to help players regain positive a feeling, understand themselves better, and manage their emotions. This episode introduces and highlights the importance of ‘El Niu,’ the club's psychology department, where players go when they have concerns.
The protagonists in the second episode are Tyrhys Dolan, Javi Puado, Edu Expósito, and Anna Torrodà.
