Details of special measures installed at the RCDE Stadium for the derby
Ahead of RCD Espanyol’s game against FC Barcelona, which will be played on Saturday, January 3rd at 9pm at the RCDE Stadium, the club would like to share some important recommendations and information with all attendees to ensure the safety of everybody and facilitate the smooth running of the event.
Gate opening and security
The RCDE Stadium will open its doors two hours before kickoff.
Prohibited items
In accordance with Royal Decree 2816/1982, Article 59, please note that the following items are prohibited in the stadium:
-Bulky items, such as motorcycle helmets
-Suitcases
-Laptops
-Any object that could be thrown onto the pitch or that could hinder an evacuation
Additionally, for this match, large bags, sports bags and backpacks will not be permitted.
We also remind you that there is no baggage storage service at the RCDE Stadium for personal belongings. Therefore, attendees must plan their entry to the stadium, avoiding bringing prohibited items and complying with the indicated security measures.
Prohibition of access with away team symbols
Access to the RCDE Stadium with any type of clothing, scarf, or identifying symbol of FC Barcelona is strictly prohibited.
Anyone with shirts, scarves, hats, flags, or any other insignia of the away team will not be allowed entry.
This rule applies to all areas of the stadium.
Security and access control personnel will ensure strict compliance with this rule.
Safety netting behind the goals
We also inform you that safety netting has been installed behind both goals at the RCDE Stadium. This action has been taken to guarantee the safety of all attendees and ensure the smooth running of the event.
Disciplinary regulations
The RCD Espanyol Disciplinary Regulations outline the rules governing access, conduct, and coexistence at sporting events organised by the club, and establish the obligations and responsibilities of all attendees, including members and season ticket holders. Their objective is to guarantee respect, safety, and harmonious coexistence within the RCDE Stadium, preventing and correcting violent, xenophobic, or intolerant behaviour, and any act that disrupts the normal course of games or endangers others. These regulations detail the applicable sanctions in case of infraction, ranging from private warnings to more serious measures such as suspension or loss of membership or season ticket status for 5 years, in addition to fines that may be imposed by the relevant authorities, ranging from €150 to €650,000. These sanctions are applied whenever conduct contrary to the club's rules -or that threatens safety and order at sporting events- is detected.
The complete regulations can be found in the relevant section on the club's official website.
Mobility and access to the stadium
During the match, the Splau Shopping Centre will be operating at full capacity, which may cause significant disruptions to access to and from the stadium. For this reason, it is recommended to prioritise the use of public transport, as well as motorcycles or supporters' group buses, and to arrive at the RCDE Stadium well in advance.
Fira de Cornellà parking
We inform our members and season ticket holders that, due to the installation of the Reyes Magos Parade events on Avenida de la Fama (section between Tirso de Molina and Maresme streets), access to and from the Fira de Cornellà surface car park will be via Carrer Albert Einstein only.
This may result in a slower than usual evacuation of the venue.
RCD Espanyol are currently experiencing a historic run of form, and are in a prominent position in the LaLiga standings as a result of the hard work, effort, and unity of everyone associated with the club. In this very special context of the derby, the club wish to appeal for calm, respect, and good behaviour from our fans, who have always been a source of pride for their exemplary support and the way they encourage the team.
RCD Espanyol thank all attendees for their cooperation to ensure a safe and enjoyable matchday in the best possible atmosphere.
