Roberto Fernández called up for Spain
The striker makes his first appearance in a senior squad
Roberto Fernández has received a call-up for Spain, as part of their squad for the country's upcoming Nations League fixtures.
The Espanyol forward makes his first appearance in a squad list named by coach Luis de la Fuente, rewarding his excellent start to the season at club level.
The forward from Córdoba has emerged as one of the standout performers of the LaLiga campaign early on, netting six goals in the first six matchdays.
Roberto previously represented Spain at youth level, playing in the Under-21s European Championship.
During this international break, Spain will play four Nations League matches against England, Croatia (twice), and the Czech Republic.
The striker follows in the footsteps of Joselu, the last RCD Espanyol player to be called up to the senior Spain squad.
