Release Your Seat scheme provides win-win for fans
Those who cannot attend games can give up their seat and gain benefits
The 2025/26 season has once again demonstrated that the Release Your Seat service is a tool that benefits season ticket holders, the team, and the entire RCD Espanyol family.
Thanks to season ticket holders who made their seats available to other fans when they couldn't attend a match, the RCDE Stadium saw higher attendance throughout the season.
This collaboration offered a direct reward for those who gave up their seats.
Data from the 2025/26 season reflects the success of the Release Your Seat service:
- 3,400 season ticket holders earned a discount on their season ticket renewal.
- 70% of the seats released by season ticket holders were sold.
- The average discount earned was €60 per season ticket holder.
- 410 season ticket holders reached the maximum allowed discount, equivalent to 50% of their season ticket cost.
- Thanks to this system, 8,500 tickets were sold, allowing more Pericos to experience matches at RCDE Stadium.
When a season ticket holder knows they cannot attend a game, freeing up their seat allows another fan to occupy that spot.
The season ticket holder retains all rights to their seat during the year, and if the seat is sold, they accumulate a credit that can be deducted from their season ticket renewal for the 2027/28 season.
The accumulated discount can reach up to 50% of the season ticket price, the maximum limit set for this campaign.
Every occupied seat helps ensure the best possible atmosphere at the RCDE Stadium for every game. Freeing up your seat when you aren't going to use it helps boost stadium attendance, allows more fans to support the team, and strengthens the backing from the stands.
Everyone is a winner: Season ticket holders earn a discount toward their future renewal, other Pericos get the chance to attend matches, and the team feel the support of an even larger crowd.
The Release Your Seat service has been available again since July 22nd.
