RCD Espanyol take to Barcelona metro to model new shirt
The club representatives visit an iconic location
RCD Espanyol’s 125th anniversary celebration is coming up, with a grand gala set for the University of Barcelona’s auditorium. Various events have been planned throughout this week in connection with this historic date for the club.
This Monday a commemorative 125th anniversary shirt has been launched, which the team will wear this Saturday in the LaLiga match against Elche CF.
To celebrate this significant date, the club took to the Universitat metro station, an iconic Barcelona location just a few metres from where RCD Espanyol were founded on October 28th, 1900. Thanks to the collaboration of Transports Metropolitans Barcelona (TMB), the club occupied a unique space in the metro station lobby.
This also coincides with the Barcelona metro system’s centenary events schedule.
First team players Pol Lozano and Tyrhys Dolan, as well as women’s first team players Júlia Guerra and Cris Baudet, participated, acting as models for the shirt that both teams will wear in their upcoming home matches.
RCD Espanyol CEO Mao Ye and RCD Espanyol board member Rafa Marañón led the club's institutional representation. The scene provided a friendly community atmosphere, reflecting Espanyol's deep roots in the city's daily life.
