RCD Espanyol donate sports kit to Senegal
The club participate in Proyecto Xevi
Through the Proyecto Xevi initiative, RCD Espanyol have donated sports kits to the football school in Oussouye, a town in the Ziguinchor region of Senegal.
The donation from the club will provide the boys and girls at the school with new equipment, with which to continue playing football. In recent months, the town's sports project has taken a significant step forward by creating a girls' team, promoting female participation and equality through sport.
The equipment was delivered during a trip to the African country by some of Proyecto Xevi collaborators, including Espanyol fan Maite Marco, a season ticket holder and active member of this charitable organisation.
Proyecto Xevi has been working for over two decades to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable communities, especially in Senegal, by promoting initiatives related to education, health, development, and using sport as a tool for social cohesion and equal opportunities.
