RCD Espanyol's growth in the global football digital ecosystem has been confirmed by the prestigious CIES Football Observatory report no. 548. The study, which analyses the global popularity and evolution of football clubs on major social media platforms, ranks Espanyol as the 14th fastest-growing club in Europe's Top 5 leagues in terms of percentage growth over the past year.
With a spectacular 20.9% increase in their digital community since June 2025, RCD Espanyol have gained more than 2.1 million new followers in the last year, reaching a new high total of 12.1 million followers across official channels.
The driving force behind this digital surge is TikTok, where the club have amassed a social media following of 7.3 million, making it the platform of choice for connecting with new generations of fans internationally through innovative, dynamic content with a distinct identity.
The presence on the other official channels remains strong, with 2.6 million followers on Facebook, 1.1 million on YouTube, and 500,000 followers on both Instagram and Twitter.
This 20.9% growth places Espanyol among the most dynamic clubs in Europe, surpassing the relative growth rate of giants in the Premier League, Serie A, and the Bundesliga. Domestically, the club are firmly established in the all-time Top 10 of Spanish football, reaffirming our global value and impact.
The club consider this milestone a direct result of an ambitious, modern communication strategy focused on internationalising the RCD Espanyol brand, which seeks not only to inform but also to inspire and "establish a presence" in the global digital landscape.
