RCD Espanyol appoint Fernando Navarro and Miguel Ángel Gómez for sporting project
The pair will work alongside Monchi in the sporting structure
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona have incorporated Fernando Navarro and Miguel Ángel Gómez to the club's sporting structure, with the aim of strengthening and consolidating the project.
Navarro, a Europa League winner with Sevilla FC, joins RCD Espanyol as the new Director of Football, bringing extensive experience both on and off the pitch. After a distinguished career as an international for Spain, which included winning the 2008 European Championship, he went on to work as part of the sporting directorate at Sevilla FC between 2019 and 2024. There, he worked alongside Monchi in planning and development.
Gómez will assume the role of Head of Recruitment. Throughout his career, he has been part of various projects related to national and international football and has also worked alongside Monchi in previous roles. He has also held positions as sporting director at Real Valladolid CF and UD Ibiza.
With these additions, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona continue to strengthen the sporting structure with experienced professionals who possess extensive knowledge of football, in line with the club's commitment to building a solid, competitive, and long-term project.
