Eduard Sallent, commissioner of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police force), and Xavier Andreu, director of communications and institutional relations for RCD Espanyol, appeared after the derby against FC Barcelona to provide details about an incident that occurred near the RCDE Stadium minutes before kickoff.

The situation, involving a vehicle being driven through a crowd, is still under investigation.
