Despite the recent defeat against Real Sociedad in San Sebastián, the RCD Espanyol squad remain hopeful that their performances will soon be reflected with more positive results. This was reiterated by Brian Oliván, speaking with Espanyol Media on Wednesday.
“I'm very comfortable here, and I want to work more to improve many things. I hope the results will come soon," he explained.
“We are a group who are eager to work and learn. Results are what count, but we are doing things well, although there are also things for us to improve. We have been very close to getting wins against high-level teams. We create chances, but we have conceded a lot of goals and we have to improve on that."
He also stressed that “I am proud of the team. I think we've done a good job against teams that are at the top of the table. We gave a good showing of ourselves and the opposition had a hard time to take the three points."
Looking ahead to October, Oliván commented that “we will have to perform at 120 percent to try to recover those points that we have dropped. The feeling in the squad is very good, but that isn't what matters. We are matching all of our opponents and the image given off by the team has been better than the results."
