Official Statement
The club identify four individuals in security measure
RCD Espanyol continue to reinforce a commitment to eradicating inappropriate attitudes, behaviours, and chants in the stadium, which, in addition to damaging the club's public image, carry significant financial penalties. As a result of these actions, four individuals connected to the throwing of objects during the recent derby matches against FC Barcelona and Girona FC have been identified.
The identification of those responsible took place during the last home match against Deportivo Alavés, thanks to the control and monitoring protocols established by the club -in collaboration with law enforcement. Once located, these individuals were immediately removed from the stadium and subsequently suspended as club members.
The club underline the ongoing work being done to guarantee a safe, respectful environment in accordance with the values of sport, both on and off the pitch. We uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards any behaviour that could jeopardise the safety of attendees, players, and staff.
Furthermore, the club reiterate a firm commitment to continue cooperating with the authorities and to apply the necessary disciplinary measures to prosecute and punish any conduct contrary to peaceful coexistence and fair play, appealing to the exemplary behavior of the vast majority of fans.
RCD Espanyol fans have historically been renowned for their civility and respect. We thank all those who, match after match, support the team, foster a respectful atmosphere in the stands, and help make the RCDE Stadium a respected venue in LaLiga.
