The coach spoke at a press conference at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque, ahead of Espanyol’s first game of the month and their first away game since the opening day.
Martínez said, “I am very happy with the dressing room I have. They are the players of Espanyol and for me they are the best in the world. I really believe in those that I have. We have to deal with a lot of things, but I believe in these players and this team.
“I’m proud of them and of RCD Espanyol, these people believe. This is what we have to do. I believe in these players and this project.”
Martínez was speaking for the first time since the transfer window closed on Thursday, and was asked about the window which saw 10 new signings arrive at the club.
On the summer transfer window, he said, “It has been a very difficult and complicated market. It’s a reality we have to deal with, we believe in what we have. Regardless of the circumstances and everything around them, we must keep going forward.”
The coach added, “I am fully committed to the Club, to the fans and to the people I have in the dressing room. Just like the first day, I am full of hope.”
