La21 presentation celebrates development, values and tradition
The annual event for the youth system brings together players and representatives
The Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque hosted the traditional annual presentation for La21, the club’s academy system, this Tuesday night. It was a very special event that this year coincided with the facility's 25th-anniversary celebrations. Since its inauguration, it has seen generations of footballers grow and develop, including players who have gone on to become World Cup winners.
During the ceremony, the four values that define the club were unveiled: Rebellion, Authenticity, Commitment, and Pride. Each of these values was explained in an interview format by key figures from La21: Roger Garro, Ruth Frías, Sara Cerdà, Hugo García, and Eric Moreno.
The event saw a strong institutional presence, headed by RCD Espanyol President Alan Pace. He was accompanied by Sporting Director Monchi, Technical Director Marco Otero, Head of Football Javi Chica, Director of Women's Football Dolors Ribalta, and Women's La21 Coordinator Aida Uceda.
Representatives from the first teams were also in attendance, in the form of Júlia Guerra and Roger Hinojo, the bearers of the number 21 shirt for the women's and men's sides, respectively. The institutional delegation included deputy mayors and the Sports Councillor from the Sant Adrià de Besòs City Council, as well as the vice-president of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF).
Besides the youth academy teams, the spotlight also shone on the children from the Escola Dani Jarque and the RCDE Special team, exemplifying the values of inclusion, effort, and passion that define club’s identity.
