Expósito: "The squad are prepared for the season"
The midfielder talks after Friday training
Speaking on Friday in Burnley, where the squad have been training this week, Edu Expósito explained RCD Espanyol’s approach to their summer preparations.
"We’ve played a few games now and are in that phase of getting up to speed. There are still two friendlies left for us before the LaLiga season starts, and we’re motivated because it’s just around the corner."
The midfielder noted that "We’re ready. There’s still a month in which more players could arrive, but the squad are prepared to start the season."
He also pointed out that "The friendlies we have coming up are beneficial because they are very physical and played at high intensity. They help us prepare for the start of the season. Right now, it’s not about the results in themselves, but about building the rhythm needed to secure the three points in our opening LaLiga match against Levante."
Regarding his own situation and rumours about potential offers to sign him this summer he insisted that "I’m very calm. You’ll be asking me the same thing when the transfer window closes. I’m fully focused here and really looking forward to this new season."
