The club and the federation reaffirm their commitment to football in the region
RCD Espanyol President Alan Pace visited the headquarters of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF) in Barcelona on Wednesday. He was received by the federation's president, Joan Soteras, in a meeting aimed at strengthening the historical ties between the two institutions.
Mr. Pace was accompanied by the club's CEO, Mao Ye, and the Director of Institutional Relations, Xavi Andreu. During the visit, the Espanyol delegation learned about the history and heritage of Catalan football, touring the different rooms of the federation's headquarters and receiving an explanation about the background of the most emblematic trophies held by the FCF.
One of the highlights was the presentation of the Copa Macaya, the first official trophy in Spanish football and the exclusive property of RCD Espanyol. The club temporarily loaned the cup to the FCF for the PIONEERS exhibition.
The visit comes at a historic moment for the club, who are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year. Wednesday's meeting served to reaffirm the shared commitment to the development and promotion of Catalan football.
