Agreement to boost matchday experience
The club partner with Tennium to optimise the use of the RCDE Stadium
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona have reached an agreement with Tennium, a global platform specialising in the creation and management of sporting events, to boost the development and optimisation of matchdays at the RCDE Stadium, aiming to enhance the fan experience and maximise revenue.
The agreement, which runs through to 2027, represents a step forward in modernising the club's matchday business model, leveraging a leading international partner in sports event management.
As part of this partnership, Tennium will provide strategic advisory services and operational support to RCD Espanyol in the implementation, development, and optimisation of matchday business, covering key areas such as hospitality, ticketing, and food & drink. The company will also support the club in transforming its VIP offering by redefining the current offering, developing new products, and collaborating with the commercial team on marketing, with the overall objective of raising service standards, expanding commercial reach, and optimising stadium performance.
The club will undertake a series of investments aimed at creating and renovating hospitality areas at the RCDE Stadium, to expand and diversify options for businesses, sponsors, and fans. These improvements will allow for more exclusive, comfortable, and personalised experiences, adapted to new market demands and the standards of major European sports venues. Similarly, as a result of the agreement, the culinary offerings available in these areas will be enhanced through a comprehensive upgrade of catering services, incorporating a more varied and higher-quality selection aligned with the premium experience the club aim to provide guests and visitors.
Mao Ye Wu, CEO of RCD Espanyol, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership: “The club always strive to have the best partners. This agreement represents a strategic step in our commitment to further modernising the matchday experience. We are confident that this partnership will help maximise the potential of the RCDE Stadium and consolidate a stronger and more sustainable business model for the future of RCD Espanyol.”
Kristoff Puelinckx, CEO of Tennium, stated: “This agreement represents an opportunity to further expand Tennium’s reach in business development for clubs, bringing our expertise in large-scale events to the stadium environment.
