This Wednesday saw the celebration of members who reached 25 years of loyalty in 2019 and 2020. The emotional act at the RCDE Stadium was attended by more than 1,000 people.
The honoured members were able to take pictures in the photocall created for the occasion, speak with ex-players present at the celebration and receive a discount voucher to use in the RCDE Stores. In addition, they participated in a raffle for three match-worn Espanyol shirts signed by the first-team squad, and hospitality tickets in the Corporate area.
Mao Ye, Club CEO, said, “It is a highly anticipated act, as we are holding it two years late due to the pandemic. This act has been carried out thanks to the idea of the fans to revive this celebration, and we have been able to enjoy a family afternoon with our members. We are enjoying the act they deserve.”
Furthermore, former players Jordi Lardín, Edu Mauri and now-director Rafa Marañón wanted to accompany the members. For his part, Lardín stated, “It is a very nice act. It's incredible that Espanyol fans are so loyal and to see 27-year-olds who have been members all their lives. Espanyol fans are like that: very faithful and very long-suffering. And this is what makes us different.”
Regarding the current situation on the pitch, he said, “This World Cup break will do well to work and correct things. I am sure that the team will come out ahead because we have a team prepared to do so.”
Also present were the social ambassadors Iñaki Pérez de Arrilucea, Toni Blanch and Raúl Longui.
At RCD Espanyol we feel grateful for the loyalty of our members, our driving force. Thank you for being part of our family!
