The homegrown player has reached an agreement to extend his contract with RCD Espanyol
RCD Espanyol and Nico Melamed have reached an agreement to extend his contract until June 30, 2024, as announced at a press conference by the club's general manager, José María Durán. Melamed (11-04-2001, Castelldefels) arrived at Espanyol as an under 13 and, since then, progressed through the parakeet's youth football.
Melamed was the first player born in the 21st century to debut with the club's flag team. The homegrown blue and whites player made his debut in Q2 of the UEL qualifying round against FC Luzern, and later made his LaLiga debut against R. Betis at Benito Villamarín. Adding to these personal achievements are his debut in the Second Division against CE Sabadell, and his first goal in the silver category.
“People really take notice of him as a player. He has merit because he is doing his job very well,” said Espanyol coach, Vicente Moreno.
Congratulations, Nico! To many victories with the blue and whites!
