“Every game is different”
Victor Alvarez knows the team should reflect on the shortcomings that showed last Saturday at the Vicente Calderon, but also assumes that they have to get ready for the match against Levante of the King’s Cup.
"The Cup must serve to improve, for players who have not had many minutes so far and for them to be competitive. Last year went well and we did a good job. We hope that we can repeat now", he said.
"Every game is different. We are working thinking on the match on Thursday and then we'll think about the next day. So far we must continue as we did last year. The first round is against Levante and if we go ahead, we'll see who we play against. I do not think there's any team upset with the Cup. It is a competition in which the two teams will go to win and move on".
Although the tie against Levante also coincides with the league match, he said that "there will be three matches in a fortnight, but will be different and we have to play with the same commitment”. "In a two-legged tie it is difficult to say who the favourite is".
About the match on Saturday he said that "we must improve and not concede a goal so soon because it dismantles everything worked during the week, but it is also true that we didn’t have many chances to score".
