Unai Núñez signs for RCD Espanyol on loan

The defender joins on a one-year deal with an option to buy

RCD Espanyol de Barcelona and RC Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement for the loan signing of Unai Núñez until the end of the 2026/27 season. The deal comes with an option to buy the player.

Núñez passed his medical examination at the Corachan Clinic in Barcelona on Thursday.

He is an established centre back in LaLiga, with 237 official appearances in the top tier for Athletic Club, Celta Vigo and Valencia CF. In addition, he has played in Italy for Hellas Verona, and represented Spain in the qualifying rounds for Euro 2020.

Nuñez won the Spanish Supercopa in 2021 with Athletic Club, and the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Spain in 2019.
