Romero: "We want to seal survival as soon as possible"
The loanee speaks before Matchday 35
RCD Espanyol's defeat against Betis on Matchday 34 hasn't dampened the team's confidence in the work that they are doing. With four matches remaining, Los Pericos are confident they can confirm their place in LaLiga for next season as soon as possible.
"We're calm," said Carlos Romero on Wednesday in a press conference.
"We're having a very good second half of the season, and in the last two games we've played two teams in the Champions League spots and been on equal terms, so we have to continue in the same way. We'll go to Leganés with the idea of sealing our survival as quickly as possible. We want to pick up a series of three points in a row, and get as many points as possible."
He also explained that the team are very relaxed due to the gap they have established above the relegation zone.
"We have a significant cushion of points and we want to confirm survival as soon as possible. We have to keep adding points. In the second half of the season, we've earned a lot of points, and the feeling is very good."
Regarding his future, the loanee acknowledges that there have been contact with his parent club, but insisted, "I always say I want to finish the season and then sit back and see what's there. Right now, I don't know anything, and we'll see later. I'm very happy here and I want to earn us survival."
