The defender speaks about the upcoming fixture against Real Betis

Looking ahead to this Sunday's match against Betis, RCD Espanyol’s Carlos Romero spoke to the media about the team’s aspirations and convictions.

The defender explained that the team's ambition "is to finish as high as possible" and emphasised that "we believe in what we're doing."

"The entire squad are focused. That's why we feel capable of beating anyone. This year we had to take a step forward offensively. We've assimilated this and we're feeling comfortable in attack. That's evident in the number of chances we're creating," he insisted.

Regarding this Sunday's match, he noted that "the visiting teams already know that the fans are pushing us on at home, and that they're behind us. We've beaten great opponents here, although we know it will be a very difficult game. Betis have a European football-level squad. It will be very tough playing against them," he warned, while noting that "we have to be cautious and alert."
