Roca: "It's important to come into the campaign feeling good"
The winger gives an update on the mood in the squad
RCD Espanyol winger Antoniu Roca is facing the start of the LaLiga season with the same ambition he has shown throughout the summer. On the horizon for Los Pericos is a game against Atletico Madrid, coming up this weekend.
“I'm really excited. We’ve been looking forward to it. We've been preparing all preseason for this moment and we're really looking forward to Sunday,” he stated.
Roca spoke highly of the work done by the squad in recent weeks.
“We're working to find our bearings, especially in preseason, but if the results are good and we also do things well, it's important to come into the campaign feeling good.”
The winger highlighted the continuity present in the squad and coaching staff as a key factor for this confidence.
“The skeleton of the team remains the same and that helps us build on the foundations from last year, which will help us form a strong unit. The new signings will certainly contribute a lot, and I think that this, combined with the block we already had, means we'll do very well.”
Regarding his personal contribution, Roca stated: “I'm really looking forward to giving my best. I want to take another step up and try to help the team as much as possible.”
Finally, he had words for the fans, who will once again be getting behind the team from the first match.
"We know that almost 100% of the season ticket holders have renewed for this year. The fans are very important to us and will help us have another great year."
