Roberto Fernández. "We've been unlucky in front of goal"
The striker talks to Espanyol Media
RCD Espanyol’s last two matches, which ended in respective draws, have left the squad wanting more. One player who expressed as much was striker Roberto Fernández, who talked to the media on Monday.
"We haven't had any luck in front of goal recently, but we just have to keep moving forward," he explained.
"The result against Girona FC wasn't what we wanted, but we still feel pretty good. We're creating chances and we need a bit of luck to finish them off, but by working on it in training every week, the ball will eventually go in."
“We have a firm commitment to maintaining our character and not giving up on any ball. We want more, we want to win and to ‘get used to winning,’ as the coach tells us. We have to keep working to have that showing from the team every weekend, that we are giving our all."
Looking ahead to this weekend's match against Real Betis, he noted that "we can't let them make transitions easily. They have very good players in attack, and we have to play our game and not allow them to breathe."
