Puado: "We're playing at home, we're Espanyol, and we hope to win"
The captain previews Thursday's derby at the RCDE Stadium
Whilst the squad left Butarque hurt last Sunday, they are already focused on the upcoming derby. Javi Puado previewed the midweek game against FC Barcelona in a talk with the media on Tuesday.
"We're eager to take the three points that would secure our safety. Away to Leganés we were very poor. That's the reality. It was one of the worst first halves we've played this season, and we have to be self-critical. The team had chances to equalise at the end, but we have to correct those mistakes and focus on the next game."
He also pointed out that the team are entering this final stretch of the campaign in good shape, "despite the fact that we're coming off three defeats."
"We have to put the game from the other day behind usand approach the derby with the maximum energy and desire that a game of this type deserves," he commented.
"Until we mathematically secure safety, we won't rest easy or stop trying. I hope it happens as soon as possible, and that we can take the victory on Thursday."
"We're aware of the importance of the derby. We have to give our all. They're a very good side, but we're playing at home, we're Espanyol, and we hope to win."
