Núñez: "It's good to be back with double sessions and hard training"
The defender talks during the international break
As RCD Espanyol continue their training schedule ahead of the return to LaLiga action, Unai Núñez spoke with the media on Wednesday about the motivation to come back strong.
"Last time out, we were playing at home against Elche and we wanted the three points -and it didn't happen for us. This break has been good for us, helping us to switch off, recharge our batteries, look at the mistakes we've made, correct them, and now focus on Málaga -so we can bring the three points home," he commented.
The defender insisted that, after a few days of rest, "it’s good to be back with double sessions and hard training. We need to regain our rhythm, and be in better form than what we had going into the break."
RCD Espanyol will play a behind-closed-doors friendly against Ipswich Town this Friday, the defender revealed.
"The Premier League is a competition defined by the great physical power of the players, and when you add the quality they have to that... It’s going to be very demanding because they play at a high tempo and are increasingly comfortable on the ball. Combine that with their physical attributes, and it is going be a very difficult game."
Finally, he said that he has "felt very welcome from the very first moment I came her. My sole focus is to keep working and training every day; the results will follow from here on out."
