Lozano: "We're frustrated with our current run of form"
The midfielder aims for a turnaround against Celta Vigo
Pol Lozano gave a press conference ahead of RCD Espanyol's next match, which comes this Saturday at 2pm against Celta Vigo.
The midfielder gave an honest assessment of the current situation, saying that "it's not an easy week. We need to clear our heads a bit and get back on track mentally. Saturday is a unique opportunity for us: We're playing at home and we're convinced we can get the three points. We have to win to turn things around."
He also emphasised the importance of "getting back to winning duels and winning situations in games. It's a combination of things we are already doing, and others we need to get back. We had that in us, and we still have it now."
"When you win, you see everything differently and you have the confidence that you can beat anyone. We have to control the small details. Us being sixth with 34 points is something to be proud of. We're frustrated with our current run of form; we'd like to be higher up the table, and we're convinced we'll achieve it."
Finally, Lozano made a plea to the fans for Saturday's game.
"Streaks are part of football. We ask the fans to have faith in us. We are aware of the club we are at, and what it means to wear this shirt. We have a clear plan to turn things around. Come out on Saturday and see us perform well and put in the miles, as the team that does the most running in LaLiga."
