Lozano: "This is the most important week of the season"
The midfielder talks before the Matchday 35 fixture
Pol Lozano set out his stall in a Wednesday press conference previewing the game against Sevilla, commenting to journalists that “This is the most important week of the season. We know we have a lot riding on this weekend."
“We were able to beat them at home earlier this season. If we stay focused for the full 90 minutes, we can absolutely get a positive result. We in the dressing room are convinced and we're going there with that determination.”
The midfielder insisted that “it's like a final for us and it will demand a lot from us. But we have to be confident and rise to the occasion. We're going to a stadium where the atmosphere is very intense, and we have to be focused and have the confidence to win.”
He admitted that the team's long winless streak “hurts, especially considering the first half of the season where we were fighting for different things than a relegation battle. What we need to do now is work hard, clear our minds, as the coach keeps telling us, and rediscover many of the things we did in the first half of the season almost without thinking. This is the way forward, and when we get the three points, we'll gain the confidence we need for the remaining matches.”
"That can be achieved by winning this weekend. Football is about results. It's a very emotional sport, especially in these situations. We have to focus on having confidence in ourselves and getting back to the level we showed in the first half of the season.”
